Starting a Randalls Goby/ Randalls Pistol shrimp pair?

Hey everybody,

I have had a Randalls Goby in my tank for about a month and have had a Randalls Pistol shrimp in my tank for about a month and a half. The pistol shrimp (which is pretty small 3/4") was added before the goby (4") because the order the LFS got them in. They never bonded or even found each other.

Anyways the pistol shrimp had been missing for about 2 weeks and I finally saw its claw going in and out of a tiny burrow during feeding time last night.;D This made me hopeful about them bonding again but the goby's burrow is on the whole other side of the tank (about a foot and a little away)and I fear that they will not find each other. Any tips?

TL;DR Goby and Pistol were added at different times and haven't found each other. Tips for bonding?

 

I have the same issue although mine were together at the LFS. I think recently (after almost a month), the goby is spending more time near the tunnels - so I'm hopeful. The answers to how to encourage the bond, there really isn't anything you can do except hope they find each other......HTH
