KD, i'll say do 5-10 per gallon to start, if you keep up the twice daily feeding and WCs they breed like rabbits.

I know it sounds excessive but its really to your and they're advantage, its easier to maintain a healthy population

Do the seahorse numbers eventually even out and stop breeding? Also is cyano a problem?

Will hydroids be in LIVE sand? Should i wash the sand before I start cycling?
I will have the seahorse tank for atleast a year. I am using it to mature my tank so i can turn it into a very succesful mini reef.

I don't think so if you're talking about bagged "live sand" but i'd just use dry;)

So how is your seahorse tank going? Do you regret anything at all? How do you feed them?

Oh, there are a few of us out there...;)

That being said, rayjay does indeed know his stuff, even tho we differ in opinion regarding BB setups, but he's a fry raiser (we had more than enuff of that), and BB is indeed great for nurseries.

Cosmo is right regarding feeding density...zots are LAZY little SH, and generally sit around waiting for food to swim by, so one must add enuff food to the tank to make this happen (think modest "snowstorm").

    I wouldn't put fewer than 10 zots in a 5 gal.
