    Hello!!! Awsome site!!!! I've been out for a few years so I'm not up to date on things, I use to have a 90 gall FOWLR that always worked great with a 30 gal sump and coralife skimmer, due to economy had to sell everithing, Going back to salt water, let me know what you think" I'm getting a 75 AGA, with stand and canopy, T5 fixture 4 or 6 tubes, 1 x Koralia 4 and a lot of LR.
    All for $400
    attached is a pic of what Im getting.

    Question: Should I kill the LR and start from scratch or should I keep it in water until I start the system again?

    Thanks in advance for all your help!!!

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Welcome to 3 reef,

    Looks like a decent deal for that price.

    If there are any aiptasia, majano or other nasties like flatworms and such, then yes I would kill the LR and re-cycle it. If no unwanted pest then no.

    Congratulations on getting back into a great hobby.

    Well, my 75 gallon will take a while to finish since I will pick up this weekend and want to do some major changes, for example, sand, tint and reinforce the stand and canopy, take it somewhere to drill and make an inner overflow with a durso, DIY sump and fuge, update lighting to add some LED's.
    Other than that this will start as a FOWLR with the intention of Reeefing soon after so all your imput is GREATLLY appretiated.

    Sump = 42" long x 15" wide x 16" tall, copying a desing from Melev
    Pump = Little Giant 3 (Sugestions?)
    Skimmer = Reef Octopus 4 (100 Gallon) (Sugestions?)
    Flow = Already have 1 x Koralia 4, will add 2 more
    Filtration = Mud w/Cheato
    RO/DI (Suggestions?)

    I knwo still missing some things, will post pics and updates as they come, meanwhile any coments suggestions and reprimends (LOL) are welcome...........

    ------------

    Forgot, and the LR from the actual system, I will drop on a 37 gallon that I'm currentlly cycling so it wont die, I belive is pretty clean and with lots of Coraline and no bad stuff, but, I could be wrong je,je,je

    Well, Im gonna follow the start from scratch method, it will also be more rewarding "at least to me" Well I have a few new questions and have made some changes to my equipment list.

    1- My tank is a 75 gall. Oceanic, how can I know if I can drill the bottom?
    2- Where can I get the drill bit?

    I'm going with a quiteone 5000 or 6000 due to cost and energy consumption (spell) and for now a Coralife 220 untill I can afford the Octopus.

    What do you al think.

    By the way, thanks for all your coments, sugestions, etc.....

    Welcome to 3reef,

    Contact Oceanic about drilling the bottom. It may state that the bottom can't be drilled. Most tanks that size can not have the bottom drilled. An easy check is to get polarize sunglasses and look at the bottom in the light. If it looks like a chessboard then you can not drill it.
