    I agree about not making the water parameters correct. I realize I have to go through the cycling process so I meant that I do not have anything like copper in the tank right now. I also put some live sand in the sump so I am hoping that will help with cycling as well.

    sand doesnt belong in the sump, it either goes in the refugium or main tank
