Looks great, wish I had seen this earlier because the only thing I would have suggested would be to space the baffles at 1 1/2" instead of 1". It completely eliminates the microbubble issue that sometimes plauge this style setup.

Nice work on the acrylic sump. I've read it's a good idea to add some foam under the plastic sumps to help distribute the weight. I have no experience with this personally, just a recommendation from those that have done it already. Good luck!

Thanks. I did rip a 1X6 to fill the gap in the bottom of my sump so it does have a flat solid surface

Awesome job, Let me know how the Mag7 works out, ironically I just picked up a 20g wide and gonna do a similar build. I actually looked on "refugium" threads to find what pumps were the best, and found your post. It seems you're well ahead of me but I cant wait to catch up to ya. I think I like the acrilic look better but ah wells, my tank will have to do. good luck with the final product.

If anybody knows, for a 55g display, and a 20g Fuge, about how much gph flow should there be....

Thanks for the compliment. I will be doing some more updates as I go. Will a 20g fit your stand? I could've fit a 10g under my stand but I would've had to use a shoe horn to get it in place.

It depends on how much the over flow will handle, and what you want. Most say 10 X your sump volume. So with a 20g sump you would only have around 15g of water in it and a 150gph pump would work. I split my intake and put a valve on my fuge side to regulate the flow so I can grow pods and still have good flow to my skimmer.

My buddy had a 20g wide tank, it's only 12 x 12.5x 30 so it fits well under there with my shelf. Should my plumbing be cpvc, used for pottable water? and what do you use to sal it together with? I know the regular cement glue can't be the sealer, I just dont want to poison my tank the first time I get a chance...lol. I'm sure I'll do that all in good time.... : )
