I think it's a great time to show some responsibility and maturity, be patient and compare all the prices. You give pretty good advice from what I've seen, so take it slow and build yourself a nice set up. People have offered you a lot off here for as cheap as it gets (shipping only in some cases) and I'm sure we'll help you out (I have a hob overflow if you go that way) ONCE YOU FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU DOING lol I'm just saying you go back and forth on things and you won't know what is a good deal until you start really comparing prices for yourself and make you own choices. You know there are many ways to do things in this game, like I washed my old sand with fresh water and reseeded it with live sand. Ya, doing that and using extra dry rock has been hard for starting my tank up, but it's starting to mellow out and will be great soon. Try to remember that doing something in a month is moving fast in this hobby.

Eshopps is very Decent for the price I run one on my 55. Also,Dosing would depend on your livestock. Most params can probably be kept with just WC's but as demand from stocking increases you will have to dose something.

Well I found a bit of a problem. I asked my dad if the floor could support 600 pounds and he said no, and a 55 gallon is like 550 pounds (is it? I think it is but correct me if I'm wrong) plus about 50 lbs of live rock so I guess I'll be doing a smaller project unfortunately... and i was getting forward to it... well now im thinking again and looking for places; my room is too small, the living room has space but supposedly the floor cant support that much weight. my office i have 3 10 gallon tanks (about 300 lbs right?) and my POS biocube is still here leaking away which is about 320 lbs with the LR in there... my office has windows so indirect sunlight might be pretty bad... theres hardly and space in the basement and hardly anyone goes down there so u cant really see it... DAMN IT! didnt think it'd be this hard...

If only everyone one was so lucky.

Also, I saw that Bloodkip posted some conversation he apparently had with somebody about yellow tangs in a 55. Know that there are not any hard and fast rules as far as tangs go. Just because a tank is 4ft long doesn't mean you can automatically house a tang. What if I have a 4' long tank, but only 4" wide? See my point? You can have a tang in a 55, but you must do it with the understanding that it will eventually outgrow your tank and you will need to do something with it then. Use common sense and research and you will be fine.

To the point, I think given the various concerns you have voiced over your many threads, I would stick with the 29 and try to make that into a nice setup. I think it will serve your purposes much better. My 55 cost about $900 to setup properly with some livestock, so you can use that as a reference.

As for dosing, again, there are no set rules here. If you have a lot of hard corals, then you will probably need to dose. If you have mainly soft corals, then you probably won't have to and regular water changes will suffice.
