Well after some serious consideration my tank has not been improving very much after some heavy water changes, the mistakes helped me a lot and a couple of months ago my tank looked very good. But now not so much so i decided to start over.
My question is what should I do to make sure that I start over right, some info on my tank is, it is a 180 gallon tank with a tidepool module two sump. About 200 pounds of live rock. Then a hamilton metal halide fixture 3 250 watts mh and 2 vho 70 watt actinic lights. Any more info I can put on all you have to do is ask.;)

Nitrates and Phosphates and an algae problem, i know these could be fixed by I have been trying to fix them for years. I just made every mistake you could make in the beginning and they are hard apparently to fix.

my algae is getting better, even without a fuge. While my fuge was running it made a huge difference
