So my 90gallon upgrade finally starting to come together. Besides the RR tank I also bought a Reef Octopus NWB150 skimmer, a BRS RO/DI value pluswith inline TDS monitors, and ordered 50 pounds of pukani and 10 lbs of branch to start getting a scape going. I will probably order anoter 50 lbs of roack, either from reef cleaners to mix and match or another 50 of pukani with some shelf rock when its back in stock.

Never used RO/DI water so hopefully this will make a huge difference in my long term success of the reef. The only real issue I had with my last tank was film algae on the walls that needed taken care of every 2-3 days and cyanpo on the sandbed about a year in. After 2 years I ahd a ahrd t ime keeping all my snails alive and am not sure if long term t ap water use led to a build up of heavy metals in the rock and sand so its time to graduate to the big leagues of RO/DI!! I also neevr used a skimmer or a sump so this whole setup is going to be very different and hopefully much better!

Cleaning glass each day is standard. I have a 90g as well. If you're doing freed you should also get GFO to help control algae. A good sump, good skimmer, and good god is a good start. Id recommend from experience don't go cheap on gear. There aren't any short cuts in this hobby. It's awesome but frustrating
I just redid my scape with tonga. It's heavy and impossible to drill. Worked for what I want but I'm worried about the weight. I feel with scaping that we'll always keep redoing it

Sounds like you're moving in the right direction. Cleaning the glass is an every other day thing for me. Then once every couple weeks the scraper comes out to get the coralline off the glass.
