Hello everyone, so I've been thinking about this since I've started the reef hobby a year ago. I never read wanted to dose because it sounded too difficult for a beginner. But now I want to understand it and see if I should start. First of all, I'd like to tell you all what I have in my tank when it comes to coral/inverts. Basically I own mostly softies and lps only as for corals and a rose bubble tip anemone for invert. I don't plan on having any sps in my future tank build. I always thought that doing wc would add any elements that were needed in the tank. I haven't really seen anything bad happen to my corals other tank growth.
If I do decide to start dosing, what kind of test kits do you all use? And could someone explain to me how to test and ect. I would also like to understand how the 2 part BRS dosing stuff works. I watched the video but am still questioning the process. So maybe one of you could tell me how you mix the power, how much, and the amount you add to tank. I am in need of some answers!

With what you have a bi-monthly water change of 20% will take care of your needs imo.

I wouldn't even consider dosing with your tank and inhabitants, regular water changes are more than sufficient for good growth and happy corals.

just test you PH, KH, Calcium, Mag, phos, (I tend to check Nitrate every couple weeks), and keep your water changes on regular schedule and should be fine. What size tank do you have anyways?

It's only a 40 breeder with minimal amount of softies, lps, and a nem.

Seriously if you don't want to listen to me, listen to AZDR.
You don't have anything in your tank that going to use up anything which waterchanges won't replace. We are trying to save you some money on test kits here.

Uh, sorry if it sounded like I ignored your input. I am doing what you've stated and will continue to.

Thanks you guys for the input. I'm just glad that I am doing it right and won't have to spend $100+ on dosing and testing material.
