i just thought about this. how do heaters affect an acrylic tank? if my T5 (NO HO) can simply bow the top middle brace from resting on it, how will my stealth heater affect the back side of the acrylic tank?????

Probably not at all. The heater, as long as it's not directly touching the acrylic, has a medium to disperse the heat into, so it never gets to the acrylic. The lights, on the other hand, pretty much concentrate heat on the brace, and will bend it over time while even a small weight is applied.
