Not even the tank lights going out phases his staring!

Oh wait I think he might be going home now.. he at least turned around... wait now he is moving stuff around... I am starting to think he believes my vision is based on movement like a T-Rex...

Thanks Jwin. Yeah he is not shy at all. I might have to bring in one of my dogs to see if he will stop staring at me then haha.

Oh man! Mines exactly the same! Her tank is in line with my desk and for the last two nights while I've been here at the computer I'll shine a light over onto the tank and there she is, next to the glass just staring...

Thanks Bje. He seems to be doing well.

Glad I didn't disappoint! This mantis is extremely easy to get close ups of. With Fister I had to wait with the camera ready for hours waiting for him to hold still long enough to click the button.

Thats O. havanensis for you... I am glad to announce I managed to stealthily sneak into my room without the mantis noticing so I can watch some of his normal behavior. He is constructing a nice den and smashed a snail several times that would not cooperate in being building material.

Well I finally got a new stomatopod. I don't know if I ever posted it on this thread but Mallory died a long time ago.

This is the new stomatopod. It is a N. wennerae like my old bud Mr. Fister. I am not sure whether it is a male or female yet so name is tentative.
