I might try a Foxface instead...still unsure on this. Thing is my phosphates are 0 so not sure what's fueling my algae growth at this point.

I wouldn't say that your phosphates are really at zero though. Your algae is feeding on the phosphates in your system and you are getting a result of zero in short. I would find the source of phosphates and go from there.

    Thanks,

I would imagine it's my over feeding of my PITA clown... he's starving then he's not :)

It's just a small spot right now, but I really don't want it getting out of hand.

    Overfeeding would do it.

Fish can really go longer without food than most people seem to think.

I know, but my clown gets really cranky and starts bullying when he is hungry. Has the personality of his owner for sure.

I am hoping to be able to have a controller, fuge LED's, and maybe a larger return pump by spring time...ALSO...
I think I may switch over to Mean Well drivers in a few months, sat down with my bro and learned a thing or two tonight about LED's since he is trying to design his lighting for his new 190g. I'm glad he is good with electronics because that's where I am behind in the curve. But who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?!

I'd say try some chemi-pure elite before adding a fish. Also what type of food do you use? A lot of fish food brands are full of phosphates and can lead to algae problems even if you only slightly overfeed.

Right now I'm using Omega One flakes...I will be going back to Mysis and other frozen really soon though. I'm not super worried about it, it's only a spot the size of a pencil eraser maybe 1/4" long. I am going to cut back my feeding a little bit for now though. If it starts to get really bad I'll get an ugly ass Sea Hair lol

In other news- I think I am going to start my daughter a 10g in her room so she can start learning and taking care of something. I have the tank just sitting here so I might as well, after the first of the year.
