Anemone update, he decided that where I put him was not satisfactory and went lower into the corner of the tank. He has good color and all but he's in a cruddy place for viewing lol

I guess it didn't get the memo on where I really wanted it to be in the tank.

Tank Reboot. The LT Anemone is back at the LFS for two reasons 1 my tank just isn't mature enough and two I'm just not experienced enough in saltwater to risk it's life because it looks good in my tank.

    Ph 8.3
    Amm 0
    Nitrates & Nitrites 0

my feather duster is growing his crown back, my two false percs are happy

and I've been blessed with a bumper crop of damn algae.

A co-worker of mine used to be in the fish business, he's looking into an acrylic 125-150 for me from a fabricator he used to know which might be my goal for 2011

See this hobby is addictive, you get a biocube and then thing you know you have an aquarium size of your wall...

It's good that you returned the nem after realizing it was too much for your tank currently.

    A giant tank. Awesome. :)

It is very addictive, I've been thinking about what I can sell on ebay just to fund my new passion.

I like the idea of a larger eco system and the increase in stability it brings.

I've had freshwater for 25 years, but it's a whole new learning curve with SW so I decided a reset and admitting I was a beginner was best for everything involved.

    Nice

Nice pictures of your new rockwork, Steve. I have some pieces like the white one on the left side that are left over from a fish-only salt tank I had years ago. Are the other similar pieces dyed?

I'm thinking of getting back in the hobby this fall, and like you, I think I'm gonna start with a BioCube. (It would look great in my office.) Did you get the standard or the HQI version? Make any mods?

And did your nerite snail eggs hatch? We saw many of these in tidepools in Hawaii. I have read they are a very effective part of the clean-up crew.

No the eggs never did hatch, some of them are still on the back wall of the tank, I scrubbed the others off the glass.

I enjoy the biocube on my desk, but it already has me itching for a bigger tank lol

A good portion of the rock is fossilized coral that's now covered in lovely bacteria. The red on the right is a piece of lava rock looking stuff has smaller texture to it, a lot more dense. , the left is the sculpted white, very porous.
