Thanks for your opinion. I'll definitely give it a try. And might end up switching to the Percs later, if things don't go well. The other livestock I have planned are a blue spotted puffer, flame angel, and a jawfish, blenny, or goby. :)

A small update: both Clarkiis died of Brooklynella. :( on the bright side, the same thing happened to the other Clarkiis from the same tank, so I got a full refund in store credit. :) also got a large serpent star (not my idea, it was my hubby. ::) ) that I think is too large for the 55... might have to return. I'm thinking about using the credit from both clowns to ge an Onyx Perc. and buy another one with cash. (onyx: $30 clarkii: $15) and I should be ordering a basket of base rock from ReefCleaners soon enough. :D

I used to have a percale in an 8 gal biocube... lol. at my LFS they have these really small clowns, I think orcellaris maybe, that were about a cm long. as long as you have good filtration and you're clown clames an object, one would be fine IMO. when I had mine, he claimed the outtake. :) never left it to see the rest of the tank.

tanks for the kind words. now that I read around, I'm sort of happy to have them out of the tank due to aggressiveness. although I wish that they hadn't been taken out in the condition that they were in....

Well IMO 8 or 10 gallons is still pretty small... I'll think about it more. Also, sorry about the losses
