Thanks Powerman - if the base had gone, I would have fragged a couple of the tips, but with the base looking so full and having plenty of PE and colour, Im going to give it a chance to grow back over the bare skeleton
I dont know what my chances are, but at least if nothing else, I will have learned something.

    Thank you Red Gambit

as you can see they are on base of tank at present and in a couple of days time will make the transition to mid tank

the 1st one - Im going to bet will be another purple or blue but the second one looks like a green / yellow combo so that will make a nice change for me LOL

you can see it does have a couple of patches of encrusting algae, that I periodically clean off with a new childrens soft bristle toothbrush

the growth on this one is interesting - hopefully you can see in the picture it grows as a series of raised bumps and edges
what you cant see from picture is that it is sending out plates from the back of the coral also

Looking good, always seems you end up getting corals with the same color pattern when you don't get to see tham at full color. How's the STN coral doing?

That should look awesome when the plates get large enough. Congrats on getting a layered scroll going.

the above is my post on 30.12.09

this is the same coral as of 20 mins ago

it has grown onto the adjoining rock and also grown more rounded
the white areas concerned me to start with, until I realised that growth is not on the edge it also shows up on the tips of the ridges as they grow upwards

its definitely stopped STN ing IMHO

The base area now seems to be growing back towards the area that was white - so all being well its going to fully reverse on me
