    Hey Steve,

Is the adoption of symbiotic algae from nearby coral really factual? It seems quite obvious from your photos, just wondering if there's any science behind it. The how and why factors. Any good reads to support this? I'm genuinely just curious- thank you.

Oh... and can't forget the compliment on some gorgeous coral as we've all come to expect :)

if you have adequate lighting and adequate flow, and know where you are with Ca, Alk and Mag , then the best way would be to go out and get a cheap Montipora frag and see how it does dont go for the 100 plus buck acro's but the 10 and 15 buck frags are a great way to gain that experience IMHO

    thanks Nismo
yes, there are a number of articles around the www that discuss the potential of Zooxanthella from one coral moving into a nearby coral

I witness it in my own set ups and as part of an attempt to mess with coral color you may notice that periodically I move frags about and put them down flow from a coral I like the color of so that hopefully (and its working on 2 at present) they will pick up some of the coloration from that coral
I have blue tips on some arms of an otherwise green coral ( Maybe 2 or 3 of the arms are blue the rest are still green as yet)

    Thank you baugherb

got the tripod set up again this morning and have taken a new round of images

I am getting some intensified coloration since starting the Carbon dosing

a side view after just cleaning the side glass - dont do this often so the corals are getting a bonus meal today

another side view showing the mag rack with some 3 - 4 week old Acro frags growing out on there

looking nice steve, soon you will be running out of room.

also If you guys want better coloration, I would skip the vodka and hit the bio pellets.

    Thanks Sotoudt
I certainly will one day, thats for certain
Im going to run with the vodka for now, and then all being well be in a position to judge its merits versus the next form I use

Ill certainly be looking at the pellets (I already have N+P pellets in my under tank cabinet )
