Steve, do you think the tips are more blue because of the color of the LED, or because the coral is getting more light?

Your LPS are looking real good. I like the shot of the lobo.

Thanks Cheryl - its fast becoming one of my favourites for its steady growth and daily PE

    Thank you John

    Thanks barbianj
I believe that the color of the LED is encouraging the coral to increase the amount of blue pigment that it already had

your right about that, I have 4 colonies now, and 3 of them only put the tentacles out when something gets added to the tank and they sense food

this one, because the area next to it has become the territory of the Hi Fin, who shuffles across the sand bed often, the Acan seems to be on constant alert for foodstuffs

Haha...interesting. I'd imagine they'd be somewhat successful at retrieving extra food from the stir-up...be interesting to know if it positively affects their growth. Then again I doubt your sand is "that dirty"! ;)

sand is not that dirty you are right, it was a new sand bed in October last year so its only 6 months in
I did not rinse it, had trouble with wrasse and the released fine
so on a weekly basis, blasted the tank and then ran a cannister filled with foss for 24 hours - and after a few weeks of doing this, the fine particulate matter became less of an issue for me
