    incredible improvement there Steve!

You can really notice nearly every square inch of rock affected.

Looks like that corailline is seeing lots of "vacancy" signs now . . .

curious to see what final conclusions you might be able to draw on the Algaefix.

    Your colonies are really expanding!!!

Holy crap, those colonies are huge (that's what she said)! I can't believe how quickly they've grown!

    Looking much better Steve.

I really like the lavender deepwater colony. Looks like a Caroliniana to me?

    Thank you John

    Thanks M - Ocean Man
I have been running the flat back edge of a spoon over the tank walls, in order to pepper the tank with spores and thus encourage faster development

    Thank you Annick
there are a couple that really surprised me in terms of speed of growth
I have had a couple of unintentional fraggings using the back of my hand when carding the front glass, due to this issue LOL

    Thank you Jason

    Thanks Hunter
I like that one, held its colour really well and I got 2 smaller frags out of it (was broken in the LFS and I asked for the lose bits when I purchased the mother colony)

    update

the futures, so bright, the corals wear shades.

2 x 250 watt MH lamps, with reflectors , will be the lighting in the near future
at present I am going to acclimatise by only using these for a couple of hours a day for a week, and then slide the T5 canopy into the frame, and use that for balance of time

when I build up to 8 hours MH light (4 weeks)
I will then be cutting up the T5 canopy and salvaging the lamps, reflectors and ballasts - in order I can run T5 22k Geisseman lamps as supplemental lighting

run them for a couple of hours this morning, checking out the heat etc
not to bad so far, Chiller is a bit more active, but not permanently on

you can touch the reflectors, even at the top, you cant hold your hand there long, but its not the instant burn I had thought it might be

so far, so good, and I am glad I decided to make the change

I admit I haven't read everything from where I left on months back but just looking at the pics I see some awesome growth in the colonies. New halides look great.

    Thank you Mike

Yes I have 2 or 3 very good growers under the T5s
I am hoping that continues under the MH and that a few others decide its time for them to put on a growth spurt
