Thanks RedGambit , you have nothing to be jealous of , Ive been on your tank thread , its excellent.

Thank you yamaharider , Id like to say its been a pleasure, but the transition to SPS has had me acting like a new father, the pink birdsnest for example I was willing the growth, by staring at it every 20 minutes LOL

I do the same thing. Ill look at them 3-4 times a day just to see if it changed any from the day before or the last time I looked. I also like to get my flashlight and look at them a couple times about an hr or so after the lights go out to see if their doing anything too.

It kills me how the polyp extension on the pink birdsnest is just not pronounced. I need to pump some steroids into it or some such action. The green birdsnest, on the other hand--is just outta control with the buds that extend out of that thing.

your not alone... Ive always had a hard time with one the easiest corals ... the pink birds nest (seriatopora hystrix). I have the ORA birds of paradise and ORA green birds nest with awesome poly extension. I have excellent water parameters and cant firgure out what the pink birds nest likes... it started off with great polyp extension then it acts like it wants to die on me with limited polyp extension. Im dumbfounded, especially when I have other sps species thriving that are far more challenging than a "measely" birds nest.

strange is all I can say

But steve keep up the good work. Your a role model citizen with performing your water changes like its a religion to you.

My limited experience has taught me that SPS corals can be perverse LOL
seriously, the Milli I purchased stayed polyp free for a fortnight and had me worried, its opening now, with a bit more purple at the tips, moved it into more direct path but at distance from the 6000 lph SumSum Klone
    and that seemed to help?

I look forward to the day I find SPS as relaxing as softies where.

    Thank you Divott

    Thank you bsweezy

    thank you baugherb

Thank you Tatted4ever, Id like to be convinced by the no need to do water change supporters, as it would be convenient and save a bit of money
but some habits are just not easy to change
