It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I like the darker stain. Makes the stand look like older wood. Very nice.

Thanks for looking! Its 40" tall. So you don't need to bend over to look into it. For me at least. I got a question for some of you. Is it recommended to use glass for the bean animal overflow? Or can I use acrylic? Its going to be semi coast to coast since I'm having returns at the left and right.

Thats nice and tall! I wish mine was like that high..

I went with a glass overflow box with semi coast to coast (38" out of 48" length). I never had an experience with acrylic with silicon tho.
Here is what mine looks like on the right side.

I thought I was looking at your build thread. Didn't you go coast to coast at first? And put your returns thru the overflow? But that's exactly how I want it.

Hmm mine has been semi C2C from the very beginning, I think you might be talking about insanespain's 65 build.. I like his design as well but I wasnt too sure if i can align the two glass holes perfectly.. (too bad hes not very active on 3reef anymore.. :( )

Heres my LOOONG build thread, just in case :)

Yup. That's the thread I was looking at. I agree with you on not sure about lining up the holes. So I will do as you did and copy your drain. Looks like I'll have some reading to do..seeing how long your thread is lol

hey, everything is looking great. But watch out, because most 55 gallon tanks cannot be drilled due to tempered glass on every side. Double check everything.

I blew a 55 gallon up once trying to drill it. it had a sticker saying bottom panel tempered so I thought I was okay.

Thanks for the advice. I just checked it and only the bottom is tempered and I plan to go through the back so I should be good. I appreciate the heads up.
