Just got home from work tonight and noticed this stick like object in the back right corner of the tank. I set this tank up on 6 days ago, converting from a 28 gallon LS to 37 gallon LC substrate... This thing must have sprouted up pretty fast. what is it?! should I yank it?

this is dark brown... almost black. appears to be rooted in the crushed coral. I'll try to get a better pick..

Id pull it out, but it looks to me like something that jjust might have been attached to your live rock and just floated away....

It looks like it might be a caulerpa root growing that came from the LR. But I guess it is a moot point now that you got rid of it. If you see some more and have a refugium you could try adding it in there to see if it will grow. If it is caulerpa it helps with water quality as long as it doesn't go sexual. Just make sure that it can't make it back into the main tank.
