Just a heads up, there's a fully grown (3") G. Smithii female mantis on stomatopod.com. This mantis species can do well in a tank ranging from 8 or so gallons up (preferrably more) and the G. Smithii is one of the most sought after species in the mantis world. I honestly don't know when stomatopod.com or anyone else would have a smithii back in stock, so for any of you guys with a tank set up and ready to jump on a good opportunity, I'd go for it.

Bo, our 3" smithii from stomatopod.com is in a 14 biocube and seems to be worth every penny. They are active and very interactive mantis, as well as very hardy. So just a nudge in your shoulder, I'd check her out if you're interested.

It's tempting but $70 with $40 shipping is kinda pushing it. I have seem them in the past at my lfs for $20, in fact most my mantis including peacocks I got for $20 I think that's a good price considering what I've seen, and plus I don't think the people at stomatopod.com are there anymore, it's been abandoned or something and is overun with spam

They are still taking orders. Jwin just got his G. Smithii from there recently, same batch as the one thats left. I can't really see them making any kind of living from that website. I am thinking someone just runs it as a hobby, or a secondary business out of a regular fish store.

I have to say, =Jwin=, when I saw the title, "Still a G. Smithii on stomatopod.com" my first thought was that there existed mantis forum, where with frequency of posts, users moved up through the ranks, much like they do here on 3reef.

I thought that you were displeased that after so many posts, you were still a lowly G. Smithii. I asked myself, how many posts does a guy have to make to move up to, say, a Gonodactylus chiragra?

    :)
