Not only calcium but very intense light, I see you have one already in your sig. but yet it is in a 29 gallon tank with a 150 MH? I would keep an eye on that one for quite a while to see how he does, that is not the worst lighting it could be under but for a 29 gallon it is not the best. How long have you had that one? I am not trying to be mean or anything so don't take offense, I am just trying to get a better understanding of your situation.

The fuge will increase your water volume, serve as a place for your macro and mangroves, home for production of copepods, decrease fluctuations in parameters because of increased volume, good place to hide heaters, or in my case i left the heater in my tank and put a another one in the fuge so if ever one fails, i got back up. The fuge also serves as a quarantine in ways. You cant dose copper meds or wtvr but like if a fish is gettin beat up or needs to be seperated. I have a damsel living in mine rite now as well as a snail i discovered trying to eat my ceriths. The water levels in your tank dont go down, the top off goes into the fuge, which is easier to do than having to lift a 5 gallon bucket to top off evaporated water because it at floor level. A ten gallon IMO is not even worth settin up as another display, just another tank to attend to, and if you want that then might as well go bigger.

i like the invert idea but inverts can be pretty sensitive. its always dependent on how much time you wanna take to focus on the tank i guess.

clams don't necessarily need intense light, 150W over a 30G is more than sufficient for clams. i currently have a clam in a 75G under 4x54W and i've had it for a year now and it's doubled in size. and i have a crocea clam which is not known as a easy clam to keep

i understand what your saying. its not like its the only ten gallon tank in the world. i could just get another and do this with it. the 10 gallon i have has been set up for a month and a half now and theres nothing in it excepts a small piece of live rock. i was thinking of doing a mangrove/macro/mantis tank but didnt want just one thing. then i heard about a clam garden (from horkn) in a thread and it sounded really cool.

looks like i will be doing a reef. i will do this with odysea lights. T-5s to be exact. i will also just be using chaeto and a mangrove or two for filtration.
