So I am still having trouble mixing my salt. I had a thread on here before.. and I just can't get it all to mix. I am putting three gallons in a bucket and slowing mixing in 1/2 cup of salt with a whisk and I have an air pump and bubble stone in there I let it set for a few hours before mixing another 1/2 cup of salt in stirring occasionally. I just cannot get all the salt mix or im still getting precipitates.

I use a powerhead when mixing salt. The constant movement of water should help dilute the salt easier and faster.

I think you are getting impurities from the salt. Such as pieces of the bag the mineral came in.

How old is the salt? Is it possible it was left open at some point and the humidity caused the minerals in the salt to clump together? Or maybe it's just a bad bag of salt. Is this happening with multiple bags? I've never heard of someone having problems dissolving salt even with a SG as high as 1.035.

I use the 5 gallon bucket (makes 160 gallons) that my Reef Crystals comes in. It's airtight when closed properly. In the future I can buy the 200 gallon box and just pour most of it into the bucket. The rest that won't fit, I'll put in some other kind of airtight container until it's used up.

My advice is to get a small power head and use that. I always mix salt overnight and never had any major issues. I think your method is much more time consuming, tedious and ineffective.
