Stock filter

    What can i do to better the filtration on my 14 gal BC?? Go easy on me i'm new at this.:confused:

    if you have a good amount of live rock, all you would need is a powerhead or 2 to circulate the water, sump, & a skimmer. If you don't want to use a sump (since your tank is very small), you can get an hob skimmer. Also a reactor for media would be good also.

    Filters that work well for FW don't really translate to SW all that well. If you are using a stock filter you may need to constantly clean it out so that your Nitrate level doesn't spike from things getting trapped in the filter (depending on what it has in it).

    I have 10 lbs of fiji rock and about 3'' of live sand. I just want to make sure that what I
    have as a filtering system is enough

    what is the system made up of (filter pads, carbone, etc)? Do you have a skimmer & powerheads?
