I'm planning my stock for my new 300g plywood reef tank and I'm going to transfer these fish from my 90g to it eventually:
Flame angel, Squamipinnis anthias (male), blue hippo tang, desjardini tang, yellow tang, and marine betta.

The fish I am interested in are:
Regal angel, Copperband butterfly, percula/ocellaris clownfish, Squamipinnis anthias (2 females), mandarin dragonet, magnificent foxface, Longnose hawk, achilles tang, and a clown tang.

I've also had some interest in:
Heniochus butterfly (school), banggai cardinal (school), leopard wrasse, mystery wrasse, and a green Chromis school

What are your opinions? I'll be transferring all the coral over as well which are mostly soft and LPS but I'll be adding some SPS Maybe in the future.

I'll make a build thread if you guys want.

    Comments below:

    - The Flame Angel is a crap shoot as to whether it will nip at SPS.
    - The marine betta is coral safe, but I wouldn't call it reef safe. They will eat shrimp and small fish.

    Lots of red flags here.

    - First we'll start with the two tangs. The achilles and clown tangs will most likely not go together. Those are two of the most aggressive tangs in the aquarium industry. One would end up dominant and kill the other. The winner would then likely kill the other tangs. I would recommend staying away from these.

    - The Regal Angel is commonly listed as the most reef safe of the large angels. I have tried so-called "reef-safe" large angels twice. In both instances they picked on palys and zoos and I had to remove them.

    - The mandarin shouldn't go in until there is a pod population for it to feed on.

    - The copperband is another crap shoot. I put one in my current SPS tank to help with aiptasia. It did a wonderful job, but then wouldn't take cut food. They do not do well with aggressive feeders like tangs. It is another I would recommend staying away from.

The others in this list are good.

    - The heniochus comes in to genus: heniochus diphreutes and heniochus acuminatus. The acuminatus is NOT reef safe while the diphreutes CAN be. I've kept two with success. Unfortunately the diphreutes is VERY hard to find. Make sure you get the right one or you will lose corals.

    - You cannot get a school of banggai cardinals. They will eventually kill each other until only a male and female remain. Additionally, I have not had luck keeping them with aggressive feeders like tangs. I don't know why, but they just haven't been able to hang.

    - Stay away from the leopard wrasse.

    - Mystery wrasses are one of my favs.

    - Keeping a school of chromis can be tough. They typically don't last as a school.
