well, all I can say is that I have kept the blue spotted, stars and stripes and the valentini (sp) and they have always been peaceful with other fish. I don't know what else to say about it....if they can be aggressive, then adding last would be my recommendation. I would like to hear from other people that have kept the tobys. Perhaps over a very long period of time, they could get aggressive.

Not saying there aren't compatable fish. However I would rate them as semi aggresive. Not easy to add new fish when one of these is present in the system so a more aggresive tank will suit it much better IMO.;)

Thank you for all the input.. How about any of these 3 setups that I have in mind? Preference on any option..

    Option 1: 2 O.Clown , 1 Leopard Toby Puffer / Blue Dot Puffer, 1Flame Angel, 1One Spot Fox Face

Option 2: 1 Leopard Toby Puffer / Blue Dot Puffer, 1One Spot Fox Face, 1Six Line Wrasse / Mystery Wrasse, 2 O.Clown

Option 3: 2 O.Clown, 1 Leopard Toby Puffer / Blue Dot Puffer, 1 Neon Dottyback / Blue Eyed, 1 Flame Angel

Any option of your own that you want to advise?

And hey... Gotta love my Gaints :p

I think option #1 sounds good. I've never kept a dottyback so I can't comment on compatibility. You can add the puffer last in case there is aggression....

I second adding the puffer last (what I should have done). I currently have a blue spot puffer, he was the second fish I added and he was pretty mean the first day or so to my platinum clown, my newest addition. They are getting along just fine now, but the first day the puffer was pecking at the clowns fins.

I third that. Add the puffer last.
I know their a bit different but I had a porcupine puffer several years ago and he was a monster. He had a taste of live food once and that was it. He ate, a clown, henocious butterfly and a lion fish that was bigger than him. He never was nice again. That is just my experience but if at all possible I would stay away from live food with the puffer.
    Good luck.

I wouldn't do a fox face as they are very nervous and skittish, not what you want in a high tension aggressive tank, IMO. I'd do option 3 and consider a wrasse for it. But read up on these guys, they can be trouble and work, especially to feed it right;) I love them, but WAY too much potential problems for me:(

"The Leopard Puffer needs a varied diet of meaty foods including: squid, krill, clams, and hard shelled shrimp to help wear down their ever-growing teeth."

So read up and consider how often you need to provide these foods for just that fish and the bioload issue that creates! I'm not trying to talk you out of it, just make sure you know the potential work and problems they can be, just like that vinny punk is;) good luck to you, take pic's if you get one;)
