Finally moved and have completed the transition to my little 8-ish gallon AIO. Now that I've rehomed my clowns, I'm currently fishless.

So now it's time for new additions.

I'm thinking about going with a goby/pistol shrimp pair for bottom dweller's. My LFS has a Wheeler's Shrimp Goby and Randall's Pistol available now. I'll probably pick it up later.

I'd also like one other active fish that's not going to be hanging out on the sand bed all day. The only option I can think of is maybe a Clown goby, but I do have a tiny acro frag that I really don't want to turn into a snack.

    Any input?

Oh, didn't realize it was rimless! I don't think you would want a goby/pistol and a bottom dwelling blenny though. There are some smaller cardinals that may be a good option too. Or possibly a pygmy wrasse?

If I got the blenny it would be in place of the goby/pistol combo.

I figured a pygmy wrasse would be a jumper as well (ya know, being a wrasse and all), but I really don't know.

Oh ok, makes sense on replacing the goby. Good question on the pygmy actually. There is so little info out on them specifically. But wrasses are known jumpers so it probably wouldn't be worth the risk.

The no lid thing and small tank is really limiting you :) What about a mantis shrimp? (obviously with no other fish)

There aren't too many fish who won't jump unfortunately. You could do a plastic mesh top.;)

That's actually the plan for my 10g ;-)

As far as the mesh top, I haven't yet been able to find or come up with a design that doesn't just destroy the look of the tank. I would prefer to have one, since it would greatly increase potential stocking candidates, but they all look like crap.
