you definitely have time to decide, i wouldnt stress too much about it now.

i love the look of a foxface, i hope it goes well for you. i do see how it could be a problem with the tang just because of the tank size. less room for territory=more aggression.

Ya man we have lots o time, so we will just go slow! Foxfce fish are beast, i really want one. Saw a kole tang at the lfs today an it was the size of an oreo, it was perfect. Ich free and looked super active and colorful.

Anyways, we got the 50 pounds of rock today and 80 pounds of sand.... Transfering the tank will be on friday night!!!! ;)

Looks nice! I would put some more in the middle. You should change the thread name or make I new thread about it, I don't want anything to get locked :)

Alright i will try and change the name. Does that structure look open enough for a small kole? I think it could swim in and out of the structure, and those types of tangs like to hide more then normal. Just truing to keep options open ;)

IMO there isn't enough length in this tank but it's your choice. I think more rock could be used to make the middle "thicker" but keep the lagoon in the middle. :)

    My input

the Tang - touch and go IMHO , may be OK in that sized aquarium for a while
but unfortunately there are no certainties and if something happens to it you have a double whammy
if you lose AN other fish species after a short time , people are genuinely sorry for you
and you feel sorry for the loss
if you lose a Tang in a tank considered by many to be in a tank to small for it, you feel sorry for the loss and also guilty (well I know I did and there may be others like me)

the aquascape looks good to me, nice open, plenty of swim throughs , should be interesting for the occupants in addition to being good to look at

the thread in itself has gone off at a tangent which needmorecowbell has indicated (dont fear the reaper, dude)
but it is not chat for chat sake and every post is related to stocking the Red Sea Max

so everything is fine in this thread IMHO

Thanks for the input steve! Okay so your final decision about the tang is no correct? This guys was so small he thought the 5 gallon tank at the lfs was a castle, lol.

Haha we like the rock scape alot, but it will change a ton once it gets in the tank! We wanted to experiment and make a differant type of scape so we tore that one down, but now i want it back! Haha

I hope this thread is on topic an everything, im going to change the title to my build thread eventually :)

If you want my final decision on the Tang here it is
Its your tank, it is your choice, you must do what you feel comfortable/ happy with
it is borderline on size, but you have done your research and opted for one of the most suitable species of Tang for that set up IMO.

there are many that will not agree with me and may not appreciate my opinion or the fact I have voiced it.
my only other piece of advice would be "do it once, succeed , be happy or
do it once, fail, be sad

just do not do it a succesion of times and have 3 or more Kole tangs die in a 12 month period in the Red Sea Max

I think that is a reasonable compromise position IMO and IMHE
