I know you don't like hearing it but I also agree that 5 fish in 29gal is a lot- how much live rock do u have? what type of filtration? please don't add them all at once - go slow you will get to know your tank over time. Best of luck and don't try to reinvent the wheel :)

If I do end up with 5 fish they'll end up being added one fish every three weeks. I'll have 50 lbs of rock. I'll be running purigen, chemi pure elite, and filter floss. I'll also have a refugium with chaeto and an aquatic life 115 protein skimmer. On other forums people said that 6 fish is fine as long as one is a nano. Even my lfs said 7 would be ok. since none of these fish(exept the pink spot) get too big why is five too much? None of them other that the chromis are very active and swimmy either?

I have to admit, it's a bit of a shock coming from freshwater and being able to put 10 fish in a 20g. If you guys really think that 5 is too much trust me, I won't do it. There was this guy on AA that wanted to put 7 fish in his 20g and 4 tangs in a 75. Lol, but really, I'm not trying to be difficult. I'm all for the fish.:)

5 fish isnt recommended for a beginner....is it impossible no but it takes more work and a higher biological filter+mechanical filtration depending on how much free floating nutrients there are...once you get the feel of things maybe try to have a high load in a tank of that size but if your 5th fish is a chromi i dont think that would be a big problem........i would definitely recommend a sump of some sort even if it is only a 5 gallon bucket or something and I would used that to house your skimmer and some chaeto or something along those lines....i'd say stick to the 4 with a fish every other week being added and see how your tank is reacting to the additions and then maybe go for the 5th a few months in....make sure you add them in the correct order by agression

It's a biocube so it has the built in sump/refugium in the back. This is what I'll do(in order)

    1 occelaris clown fish
    1 royal gramma
    1 pink spot goby
    1 bangaii cardinal

And then after I feel comfortable with the tank/maintenance/and the overall care of the system, I'll add the blue reef chromis.(MAYBE)

It's ok for the chromis to be alone right?

yea should be ok and the biocubes are pretty efficient but i know some people do mod them for better skimmers etc

that sounds good but if you really, really want a 5th fish get a tinny fish(i.e 2 inches or under). HTH
, unless you have a good skimmer:)
