I'm planning now a 75 gallon fish only, what would you put in there, what would be your show piece fish? Just trying to get some ideas.

Fwiw, i too have a 75 display, and ive weighed the options myself. Personally i want a smaller kohl, as to watch him grow. theyre very active and will unwillingly become the "show" piece. I also want to have a max of 3 wrasses, in addition to my clown and goby i currently have. I feel that list would give me a good, solid bio load and enough life. Maybe another smaller fish, but only depending on how "crowded" the tank looks. I hate overstocked tanks. too many things going on and you cant really enjoy it peacefully. imo.

I think the "show piece" fish is the one that you personally like the most. For obvious reasons people seem to be drawn to tangs however at 75 gal tank size can be an issue. When you do get your stocking list together, make sure you pay attention to the stocking order to keep agression issues to a minimum. I have a big tomato clown, two cardinals,a small scopis tang and a pink watchman goby in my 75 gal mixed reef and have been very happy. The only issue i have is the tomato messing with the sand on the one side of the tank all the time. My "show piece" is the goby because i find him the most interesting but the tomato commands the most attention. Good luck and enjoy!

I have a 75 gallon tank 48x18x21, and currently have these fish in there:
    1. Long fin fairy wrasse
    2. Solar fairy wrasse
    3. x2 mis bar False perc. Clowns
    4. one spot Foxface

I Only have 4 more fish that will go into the tank, a manderin goby, 2 fire fish, and a sand sifting goby of some kind.

the deminsions of the tank are what you rally have to look at as well as alot of research into what type of fish you want. The foxface for me would be concidered the showpice fish, but in all actuality I enjoy all the diffrent colors of all the fish in the same tank vs which onr looks the best.
