I have a 12 gal. and I personally like the clown fish. I had a fire fish and all it did was hide in the rock work. I barely ever saw it. I did have a lemon goby that was relly cool. He perched everywhere. He would just hang out on the side of the glass, top of the rocks, but they only live a year.

The clowns are always swimming around, they'll even follow you. And when I take the container of fish food out he goes crazy! They are fun. My clown hosted in my toadstool. It was cool to watch.

heres a pic, cause I love pics!

romises that are quite beautiful even though there you know.... damsels and they tend to be boring but like the velvet damsel those are very pretty i have one. i wouldnt get more than one bottom dwelling fish it will get boring and they will fight. i would do like one crustecean one bottom fish and one open swimming fish, imo thats the best arrangement for a small tank

I've heard a lot about clowns and people saying 10 gallons are too small for them... but I guess I could try one. So if I'm getting a clown, I would also like a tiger pistol shrimp/ goby pair... Any good gobies it could pair up with?

if you put a clown in that tank i think it should be the only thing and imo its too small a tank, theres a big variety of fish suitable for a 10 gallon why would you want one thats too large.... clown gobies are open water swimmers and you could get a pair of those, make sure they are opposite sex or they will fight. or get them different colors

whats so bad about a clown in a 10g? I think an ocellaris could do fine with one other fish

i think a ten gallon would kinda be pushing it with one of those, some of them always are swimming or you might get lucky and get one that hides, but i would put a clown in a ten before a firefish.

yea, I wouldn't put a clown and another fish in a 10. Different clowns get different sizes, the one I have will only get 3-4", but I still only have the one fish.

you would be ok with a percula or occ in a ten gallon but just the clown no other fish and then theres a stocking problem. like i said theres a variety of small fish for a ten gallon go with a couple of those instead of trying to keep a larger fish in one. just a simpler way of doing things
