I don't think shrimp, crabs, etc. add really any bioload at all...I'm sure someone on here will know!

It may be just me, but that seems like a lot of fish for a 55 gal. Bioload concerns. I guess a big filter system and a lot of water changes. Just a thought.

I'm in the 55 is too small for tang camp unfortunately. Everything else sounds good to me. Wrasses are great tank inhabitants, most are peaceful, active, and colorful.
Shrimp gobies it depends on the fish species, some get larger than others, they aren't huge eaters though in my experience, it might be a good fish to fill out the roster. The shrimp adds no bioload since you don't feed it directly, the goby will take care of it directly or indirectly.

Why do people think 3 relatively small fish are "pushing it" in nearly 100 gallons of water? I understand the tank is only 55 but that is 13 inchs wide and 4 feet long compared to 4 inchs.... just curious

Because by the time you add rock and sand you are now only talking about 40 to 45 gallons of water. That tank is too small for a tang.IMO
There are plenty of other beautiful fish to choose from. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

i dont think the tang should be in the stocking list, however it could work. it will make alot of people on here mad but ive seen it done. usually im against a tang in anything but a 75 gallon tank but i know you at least have experience.
