    Hello Everybody,

Just started my 75 G saltwater aquarium last Thursday 6/11/09. So while waiting for it to cycle, I was already thinking of what fish to stock. BTW, it would just be a FOWLR in the beginning but will eventually be a reef. I have about 60lbs of live rock, 80lbs of live sand, using Rapids Pro PS4 (so far so good) and a Koralia 4 for flow and a heater too (forgot about that one);D.

So far, here is what I have come up with:

    a. (2) False/True Clownfish
    b. (1) Scooter Blenny
    c. (2-4) Cleaner Shrimp
    d. (1) Royal Gramma
    e. (Several) Hermit Crabs

    Not Sure/Undecided:

    a. (1) Coral Beauty or Flame Angel
    b. (1) Purple Tang (really wanted one - 75G might be too little) or Kole Tang or Yellow Tang
    c. (1) Fire Fish
    d. Any other suggestions??

Also any suggestions of the order of stocking on which should go first and who should go last. Thanks in advance.:)

So I have read in the SAME book 2 separate theories for stocking. One said that for every inch of fish you should allow 4 gallons, and a couple chapters later it said 6 gallons for every inch of fish! I chose to go with the first one. Actually, I chose not to count so I wouldn't get too down on myself!!!! :)

The pygmy angels would be a good choice, but look into their diet requirements. I lost a coral beauty even though he was eating. Go with the Kole Tang they dont get too big and are really cool looking.

I don't think you would run into problems with a Purple Tang. You would just have to make it your only "big" fish

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll let you all know what I get but in the meantime, it's a waiting game while the tank cycles.

I would vote for the kole out of all the tangs, I think I'm putting one in my 75 too. It will help with any little bits of algae as well as looking nice.

Be aware that those pygmy angels may eventually take a liking to your future corals and you may need to remove them. I personally decided not to risk it.

Add the scooter blenny towards the end, just to make sure you're aware, they're not actually a blenny but a dragonet like a mandarin. Make sure you have lots of well established rock and preferably a refugium to help keep them healthy and well fed. They need lots of pods to eat.

As far as suggestions, take a look at some of the reef-safe wrasses, flasher/fairy wrasses in particular. I would probably put in one or two of those instead of the angel.

List looks good. The only suggestions I have:
Royal Grammas can become shrimp eaters, so you would have to watch it around the cleaners. And the dwarf angels more often than not will eventually start nipping corals. After my 3rd one, I was done attempting them ;)
