I had a stone crab in one of my LR & it ate one of my Nass snails. It was a bit neat b/c it was excavating the rock. The wierd thing is I was trying to get him out so I read a thread that involved a piece of meat & a shot glass. Well I put it in & 5 min latergot curious to see if something happened yet & the crab was DEAD :confused:on its back next to the shot glass! Its been in there for almost 2 wks. But I wanted it gone before I bought anything else.

You sure that it wasn't a molt? That seems strange although I had an emerald do that also.

I thought it could've been a molt. Seemed kind of solid. I looked in its usual places to find the actual crab if it did molt. We'll see soon.

Every crab trap I tried failed when trying to catch my stone crab. I ended up taking the rock out and poking him with a pen.

One trap I didn't try though and its not really a trap... get a piece of base rock with a couple holes in it large enough for the crab to go in. Put a piece of bait (krill, silversides, etc) inside the rock and put it near the rock he lives in. With any luck the crab will scurry into the rock to get the food and you can pull the rock back out.

well still no luck. I just tried poking him into the glass with a Q tip stick. He is a good a squeezing in cracks & holding on. I don't want to take the LR out.
