    Just so you know 5 gallon "Paint buckets" from Home Depot are not necessarily "Food Grade" buckets,
    you have to look at the bottom and make sure they have this stamp on them. If they do them they are food grade and they are supposed to be safe to use.

    well if you think the bucket is interfering with the reading then take a glass of water from the bucket and then test.also,water temp effects it.the directions say to allow the meter time to adjust to the water temp before taking the reading.the water is likely colder after sitting in that bucket a while.
