strange creature

okay, well the other night i was out exploring with my flashlight at 3 am (you know what im talking about!! ) and i seen this guy, i have no clue what he is or where he came from. he only comes out at night and crawls like a slug, snail.. hes flat like a pancake, and the only reason i was able to take this pic was because the bali was moving over him.. anyone know what this is?

 

Flatworm of sorts. Don't know which kind.

Possibly a nudibranch, can you describe what it looks like? Does it have 'antennae' or a mouth that you can see - they would be visible from the "top" front?

 

hey mustaine, not sure, like i said, ive never seen him out during the day, and at night, by the time i grab my camera, hes gone.. the only reason i got this was cuz he was trapped under the star.. i havent seen any "feelers" just a flat moving surface.. i have a cucumber in the tank, and was wondering if it was some kind of offspring.. i have no nudibranches in here.. so i dunno.. alien planet...

 

its a type of limpet(look up scutus The Sea Slug Forum - Search ). never seen one with the red band, pretty cool. unfortunately some will eat coral. don't worry yet, unless your seeing coral lose

 

Its not a limpet(Scutus sp.). Its some kind of nudibranch. I have found similar ones but nothing EXACTLY like it.

Since it just showed up, if you haven't added any liverock in awhile, that would mean it has a food source. Since it is on the glass, that makes me think its an algae eating nudi, and I wouldnt worry about it. However, pay attention to your corals to make sure its not feasting on them if it happens to run out of food.

 

i think its too round to be a nudibranch. does it have exposed gills or cirrus on its back? can you describe the rhinophores

Mdeth, LOL yeah i know, im just joshin with ya.. I spun many a megadeath tunes in my day.. so anyway, yeah i think thats the best picture i can get, like i said i NEVER see him out during the day, and only very rarely at night, i couldnt snap a shot of the top of him cuz the bali was on top of him.. hes prolly a flatworm that hitchhiked on some liverock i just bought.. i scrubbed it down though so i dunno how he stayed on, if that is indeed where he came from.. ill keep you guys posted. as long as he dont start in on my coral i guess all is well.. hes pretty cool lookin.. thanks yall

 

Its a nudi, hands down, a ventricular view means nothing, but the convuluted edges give rise to the way it moves.....all too nuidi. Flatworms move like inch worms, nudis undulate. Besides being a destinct sp. of nudi....
