Yesterday morning I woke to the absents of my Clearer Wrasse. Feeding did not bring it out. He was pestering the Tang quite a bit so I though maybe the Tang niped him and he died over night. Well today at around 2:00 their he was booting around the tank colour looks good everything is fine. Now 6:00pm gone. I actually only saw him around 2:00 -2:30. I know he is in there but I just don;t know were and food isn't bringing him out.
    Any thoughts.

Hmm.. you mean 'cleaner' wrasse right?

Some people avoid those due to their poor aquarium survival record or something.

I actually had one in my FOWLR back in '92 for some time.

Hard to say, how much new water is he dealing with?
    :-/

You never heard of the rare Clearer Wrasse ;) sorry yes Cleaner. Well out of the 75G I would say 55G was new. When I saw him he was behaving normally. I'd keep an eye on him if I could fine him.

[glow=Navy, 2, 90%]How long have you had him, J? They really don't live very long in captivity, because the food we feed them doesn't have the proper amino acids and enymes that they need from their parasite diet. The longest I've ever been able to keep one was two years.... [smiley=ohwe.gif]

What he's doing when you can't find him is burying himself in the substrate. They usually don't do that, but ones that are ill or dying will. Sorry, J... [smiley=worried.gif] [smiley=Looking.gif][/glow]

    Thanks for the info Wrass,
The funny thing is over the last four days this behaviour has returned to normal. I don't know were he was, but everything is normal now

    Thanks again
    Jason

[glow=Red, 2, 90%]Keep your eye on him J, it sounds like he's not long for the longcount. I usually tell people, "if you kept him more that a year and a half, you did better than most."

    Good Luck!!![/glow]
