I have a this strange growth on my candycane coral. I am not sure if it is plant or animal. It looks kinda sluglike, but with little antenae or feelers sticking out the top. In the picture it is the pink thing on between the branches on the right side of the coral.
What is it? and do i leave it alone?:-/

that Eddy, looks like an Aiptasia nem to me

and you need to get rid of it, or it will become 2 or more aiptasia nems

methods used to get rid of these pest nems , which if left unchecked can sting corals etc

commercial products - Joes Juice and Aiptasia X
if you have a hypodermic needle - injecting with Lemon juice, vinegar, boiling water or a kalk paste mixture can also work

peppermint shrimps can eat them also

So I guess I can't just pull it off than? It has probly attatched itself to the coral?

    hi Eddy
not a good idea as if it gets damaged and splits up, you end up with a lot of them
Neighbour Tom posted a good idea on how to deal with these

if you can remove coral to a bucket of tank water, make sure coral is deflated/ closed down before lifting it from tank and then aim a spare power head at the nem, it might release and then you can discard it without fear of spreading it

I wouldn't do anything yet. after blowing up the picture it doesn't appear that the stem is see-through as Aiptasia are. Reminds me of a leather or other type coral. Is the stem see-through?

I have a baby toadstool that looks like that but the stem isn't as long as yours, so I'm not 100% positive. But baby toadstool is my guess.
