Any idea what this is? It looks like it is covered in snail slime and there is some sand suspended in it. In the center is a whitish grey ball about pearl size maybe 1/2-3/4"

One of my cleaner shrimp went over and was messing with the slime covering the ball. I don't know it it was tending it or trying to eat it.

Do you have any anemones? And if so do you feed them?

I do have some small white ball anemones that showed up on my live rock but no large anemones in the tank.

When the cleaner shrimp went over to it. It looked like the shrimp was fluffing the slime but I could be wrong.

Sorry false alarm. I remembered I had a Mexican turbo snail die last night and the white ball was a snail disc (not sure if that is right term) and I think the slime was other snail coming by to pay their respects (eat what was left of him) hehe
