    Yes, you were right, Roger!(men love hearing that, ;D ) It was salt creep on the actinic lights. I will do as you say and wash them off in fresh water and coat the ends and parts with Vaseline! Thanks for your help with this!!! Crisis averted! Thanks for your help, too, Amicarrig!!

    You should still get a ground probe and install in your tank. Less then $20 and it's good insurance against damage and stress on livestock.

    Hey, everyone who reads this except Tangster, Otty, (especially) Geek, Amcarrig, and anyone else who knows. If you feel a tingle when you touch your water(in a paper cut) or your fish start swimming erratically up and down, check for stray voltage!!!!!! My old powerhead was at 4.2 volts(why I need to win that one), you read what my actinics were and I also figured out something weird...I have the lights hanging with chains and they were putting out like (I forget exactly)51.1 volts because one loop that I had open and attached to the light to pull it to the left, was touching the plate that attaches to the fan. Check your tank today!! It's easy, get a volt meter, borrow one[/B] and you'll never know what you will find out! My tank is now down to 10.2....which is still too high, but my foxface is not twitching anymore!

    Well this bites. My actinic right side was at 57.3v in the tank water, I cleaned it out and dried it with a blowdryer and put vaseline on the metal parts and it's now reading 38.1 v in my tank....The bulbs are about 4 months old and have only been installed and taken out this one time...what gives?... how can you tell if the end cap of the tube is leaking?

    OK I took the bulb out and checked the light fixture turned on the water reads 10.1v it's my bulb! The left side bulb was 18.2v. I'll keep that until the probe gets here....

    Ok now knowing that my bulbs are bad, I'm ordering some. Which is better for my tank: here are the following choices;

    #2040 96 watt 460nm Actinic
    #2041 96 watt 420nm Actinic 1 lb.
    #2042 96 watt 10,000k Daylight
    #2043 96 watt 6,700k Daylight
    #2044 96 watt Dual Daylight 6,700k/10,000k
    #2045 96 watt SmartPaq 10,000k Daylight/460nm Actinic
    #2046 96 watt Dual Actinic 420nm/460nm

    I am getting 2 new 18" 15 Watt super actinics also..

    I'd go with the 460 and the 10 K and in equal numbers 1 for 1

    plus the two 18" actinics I'm replacing? or just those? the anemone seems to do real good under the 18" ones and I have them on the timer, then when I get up I turn on the brighter ones to make it seem like dawn then daytime... should I keep the 18's?
