I recognize the skimmer. It has the skimmer cup in a rectangular body. I only know of two companies that have this design. One is Precision Marine...I can't remember the other one at the moment.

Also...the adjustment nob will be on the overflow/outlet line on most skimmers. Find that and follow it to the top of the line near the skimmer body. The valve/nob should be there.

Is the water flowing out of that little vertical tube next to the main skimmer body?

And so right now your problem is that the skimmer is overflowing, or that the bubbles aren't rising high enough to the cup?

So what I'm thinking is that maybe there's a way to adjust that outlet tube up and down (if it's overflowing, you'll want to adjust it down). See if you cant twist that tube, or push it up or down, or try to unscrew that black ring at the base?

Yes I can I can twist a little cap on it, I tried messing with it, it didnt do much. but I will mess with it tomorrow that has to be it. it can't be anything else.. also on this tank will all the water go through the filter? im a little confused on how it works like if it directly flows through the filter. Im going to post some pictures of the whole tank (finally) and let me know what you think!

Yeah, I think the key has to be lowering that tube... It's raising the water level within your skimmer to the point where it's overflowing into the cup.

Water from the surface of your tank will fall into the overflow, and then drain down to your sump. If your sump has several different chambers seperated by baffles, a pic would help, but basically you will want the overflow water falling in one side of the sump, the skimmer on that same side, and then the return pump on the other side of the sump. The skimmer will draw in water on it's own, it doesnt need to be hooked up to anything. It will produce bubbles, which is why people have baffles in their sump, which will trap the bubbles and prevent them from reaching the return pump (and being pumped into the display tank).
