I bought a wonderful shaped live rock for both it's shape, and the hermit crabs and mushrooms on it. The mushrooms have spread like wild fire which is interesting. However occationally I see strings shouting out of the original ones mouth, what is it? Also I am not sure what mushrooms this are, best guess green or bullseye, anyone know? Also if I can get the photos to load I think I may have some Aiptasia, they have not been a noisens so far but after read some articles if this is what they are I understand they are bad. Any advice is appricated.

Tried to upload pictures but I I guess they are too large

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Welcome to 3reef,

Those are called mesenterail filaments, they are both part of the digestive system and a means of defense. Not terrible uncommon to see them occasionally, just make sure your water parameters are in line.

Most likely you are seeing mesenterial filaments or it is pooping.

Yup, mesenterial filaments. My green hairy mushroom does it once every few days...

Thank you, I appricate the help. I wish I knew which mushrooms they are, they are mainly green with a bright pink mouth and a white outline. They are not the smooth kind like some blue, purple, and red ones I see a lot (I know they come in other colors but those are the most popular). I really like having them in my tank since I have a low-medium light and am limited on coral I can house. Has anyone had them take over their tank, they are very interesting but they have spread quickly, I know they live in tight colonies.

I think I've narrowed it down to neon green mushrooms

Mushrooms take over a tank? No, never lol...you should see mine... After I put a decent light over my tank, my green striped mushrooms spread like tribbles! One of these days im going to have to go through the arduous tak of thinking them out so I can expand my coral variety. For now since I'm broke, its nice to have something all over thetank besides algae
