Struggling with QT

    I have 2 QT tanks up right now and I have been struggling with both. I am using Cupramine and no matter how many water changes I seem to perform I am unable to get ammonia levels below .25-.5 range. I tested the kit with a DT tank water and Cupramine and the test read roughly 0. So I do not think it is the test showing a false reading. Any ideas on controlling this ammonia problem?

    The one qt has nothing in it the other has 2 very small clowns, they have been up for 1 week and the other 2 weeks. Undergoing roughly 50% water changes every 2 days.
