Stud or Molly Bolt?

    Hey everyone. Well I deciding how im going to hang my new lighting fixture...i have the option of either drilling into a stud or using a butterfly molly bolt...anyone have an opinion?

    Unless its under a couple pounds, always go for the stud. What light did you get?

    I got 4 bulb tek-5 T-5HO fixture

    Just noticed the pics, nice lights. Yeah I'd try and hit a stud or two. How high off the tank will you hang it?

    well probably not that high...im going to start probably 8-10" depending on the look and then move it down slowly. I still need a way to put the moon lights on...Maybe mount them on the fixture where there is just metal?

    Bruce,

    Go for the stud since ceiling panels are usually thin.

    How do you like the lights. Do you have any pics of the tank before and after the light change? Can you shot me a pm with info on them I am looking into upgrading and these are one of the choices i have to make on.

    I will do a before and after pic, i might be able to hang the lights today...but most likley not untill this weekend :(
