well i went down to my local beach and got sand and water. i also picked some algea off a rock and found two plants of some kind, as i am not 100% sure waht they are although i assume it is kelp and lettuce algae. i also went down to my local fish store and purchased live rock. Now i am having trouble deciding what i should put in there. Can someone recommend a type of crab or snail or something to live in here? here are some pictures

These will easily out grow a tomato jar, especially the emerald crab. Maybe a dwarf cerith would be alright.

Sexy shrimp stay small but I don't think its a good fit as the salinity is really going to swing in such a small container.

dwarf ceriths are small enough, but not very popular for pets.

My concern is how are you going to keep the water oxygenated? Will you partially change water every other day?

no, this is supposed to be an ecosphere where i never open it up again so i probably shouldn't need this form in the first place. i put a couple of big plants so they oxygenate the water.

OH!!! I just learned what an "Ecosphere" is. I had never heard of such thing, but then again... I only listen to what I want to listen according to my wife :)

Definitely do let us know what your final decision was as far as plants and inhabitants. And good luck with it.
