My condy anemone moved itself right where the filter sucks in. His tentacles are blocking the way the water goes in. I am afraid to touch the thing. What do I do?

anemones move, plain and simple. get some gloves and GENTLY pull it off of the filter. then put screen around it (not sure how to exactly) so it cant go back over there. also try and feed it some so it will hopefully stay in spot more.

Why don't you get your head out of yours and READ before not even answering the question asked and going off topic.

I believe that a post was deleted.

Hopefully this is resolved and nothing bad comes to the anemone or the tank!

    good luck! :)

You're missing a post that was deleted, lol. Someone said something very rude to me. We can't ALL know everything about anemones!

But I got the anemone off of the filter.. it was a very difficult process, but I did it. Some of his tentacles fell off  I hope he's okay.

While that may work, I suggest just turning the filter off then letting the anemone move on its own. Then put a screen on the filter. Go to a craft store and buy plastic screens. They looks like beeswax, but have holes in it. Zip tie this onto the intake and you are all set.

why is the anemone moving? How is your water parems?
If you ever have an anemone that you need to get to release you can place an ice cube at the bottom of the foot. It is a slow process, but place it on the edge of a section of the foot. It will pull that part up, then move to another section of the foot. You can use ice or what I did in the store, was take a package of frozen food. Eventually it will release all together!
If your anemone is moving it is because it is not happy. Something has caused it to move, maybe ammonia, lighting etc?
hope it recovers for you! Good luck

I never noticed getting stung by anemones. I would normally just reach in to the tank and move them without any concern. The only one I would not do like that is a carpet! But it is probably best to use gloves....but dont ever just pull them off things. It can damage the foot and can cause an infection. Keep an eye on the anemone...with tentacles getting pulled off by the filter it may not survive. You know your anemone, if it starts to look different I would remove it!
