Stupid question?

    I was expecting the amount of bubbles released back into the tank to deminish once the water cleaned up, it hasn't. I have been without a skimmer for over a month. The question is is to many fine bubbles bad for the tank and will the skimmer bubbles stop after a few days?:confused:

    what type of skimmer do you have? All skimmers require a period of break-in and bubbles are part of that. They coat skimmers with some type of oil and as a result will do that.

    Some skimmers will have bubble-guards but not knowing what kind of skimmer it is, not sure if yours have one.

    But I would not worry about it...can do this for a week or so
