I woke up last night to my ATO "too full" alarm going off. Scary right.

I run to my fish room first to unplug the ATO (stop filling up my tank!). I check my water reservoir and it's fine.

Go to the DT (which is several seconds away from the fish room) and see the tank is fine... the water level is perfect

Now I should've been happy, but a sleepy peredhil gets annoyed when he finds out he was woke up for no reason.

Anyway, I have one of those Tunze ATO units/sensors. It has a floater to monitor "too full" and apparently a snail crawled up under the floater and was pushing it up. So the unit read that as water too full.

    Stupid snail woke me up!

    Just sharing my story...

What kind of snail was it? I don't have any that go over the water line, that would annoy me too! You could consider putting a guard of some sort around it to prevent it from happening in the future.

Lightning (name of snail) doesn't strike the same place twice, screwtape. Remember that always and forever. 8)

It was a FL Cerith. First time that has happened... which seeing this next post...

Oh, and the snail was under the water line the whole time (barely). Now my nerites on the other hand are always trying to escape the water :p

I know right! I'll look into making some sort of guard bc it was really annoying, but I know this is a once in a lifetime event!

    (you meant lightning, right?)

Idk what you're talking about; I see no "lighting."
