    I'm not sure if this will make you feel any better but even in real reefs the pH fluctuates in a 24 hour period. For example, marine biologists have tested pH early in the morning and the pH was below 8.0 but by late afternoon it climbed to more than 8.6. These are normal fluctuations. The serious issue is if pH drops extremely fast in a very short period of time. Many people have also said when windows that were open were then closed and the AC or heat was turned on, their tank pH dropped.

    Truthfully, I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you see drastic negative things happening to your corals.

    ph probes must be kept wet , its why they are shipped with a cover that has liquid inside. it sounds like its a probe issue. buy a cheap api test ket for 5 dollars to check it

    just bought a pH probe. pH is at 8.45. i went to move the sl2 port for the pH probe and it was jumping around. has anyone have this problem?
